I don't know if you absolutely HAVE to do this, probably not, but if you intend to use the server in a production environment, I would recommend it.

Before I used it for this, I upgraded ALL the firmware using the software from the IBM site. I'd previously used it as a temporary Exchange server to migrate from one which was about to die. Rather than admit defeat, I thought it was worth ago to install Windows 2008 from within Windows 2000 Server. I couldn't get any drivers to work on my x346 running ServeRAID-7K under Windows 2008 Server (not R2).

When I attempt to install the R2 driver from Adaptec, it then gives me some bogus 'Use the Load Drivers Option to Load Signed Drivers blah blah' and states the driver is unsigned. If I use the original signed Windows 2008 圆4 driver, it says it couldn't install the driver and to contact the vendor. I'm trying to install 2008 Standard 圆4 on an older Supermicro server with a AIC-7902 Hostraid Adapter. Sorry to bring this back up, but I've tried all of these, and I'm having no luck whatsoever.
